PASIGHAT, Sep 13: Pasighat East MLA-cum-Advisor to the Minister (UD&H, ULB & Town Planning), formally launched the public Wi-Fi at 10 locations of Pasighat at Giidi Notko on Tuesday in presence of Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu, SP Sumit Kumar Jha, PMC Chief Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, Dr. Manjuli Komut CEO PSCDCL, members of CSFCC and other dignitaries.
While lauding the initiative of the Pasighat Smart City Mission, Moyong expressed hope that with the extension of Wi-fi facility in various locations of Pasighat, business factor was going to be enhanced in the city. He noted that basic online services could be availed by every section of society. He also added that students’ community, researchers and scholars and business community would be immensely benefited from this Wi-fi service. Moyong further added that city-wide Wi-Fi public facility was one the first of its kind in the state and the Pasighat Smart City Mission was properly aligned towards the objective of the Digital India transformation Mission of the Government of India. He categorically advised the younger generation to avail the optimum benefits of the service for knowledge, skill and personality development and overall welfare of society.
CEO PSCDCL, Dr. Manjuli Komut informed that the Public Wi-Fi at 10 locations of Pasighat covering 30 access points was taken up under the City Innovation Exchange (CIX) of Smart City Mission by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. She also apprised that the facility has been extended to DC’s Office Complex, Siang Guest House, Pasighat Bazar, Civil terminal of Pasighat Airport, Komlighat, BPGH, APSTS Bus Stand & JN College. The CEO in her message has appealed the younger generation for judicious use of the public Wi-fi system.
