PASIGHAT, May 8: Highly respected figure and President of Pasighat Market Association Obyak Ering passed away on Sunday afternoon at his private residence at the age of 88. Ering is known for his immense contributions for socio-cultural development in Adi society in particular and his deep attachment with the people of all walks of life of the centurion town Pasighat. 
He is survived by his two sons, four daughters and many grandchildren. He was the brother of late Dr. Daying Ering (Union Deputy Minister for Agriculture). Late Obyak was also the first Congress President of Arunachal Pradesh and served as Secretary Bogum Bokang and various social organizations to serve humanity. 
According to his elder son Gagam Ering, born in 1933 in Roing Village, Pasighat, East Siang district, Late Obyak was son of Late Padi Ering (father) and Late Susok Ering (mother). 
Son of Dr. Daying Ering and Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering added, “The entire Ering families are deeply saddened by the demise of Obyak Eringji.  After the demise of my father, we were all looked after by uncle Obyak ji and again we have become orphans now. May his soul rest in peace.”
Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong in his message said “I am deeply sorry to hear about the passing of our loved one. My words are hard to find when expressing my condolences. A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and through our memories, they live on. In this sorrowful time, I extend my heartfelt condolences. May his soul rest in peace.” 
Mebo MLA Lombo Tayeng in his condolence message has written that “May the love and mercy of lord be bestowed upon Ering family during this unfortunate time”. 
Obyak ji taught me all the value of doing things in right way and to build long lasting relationships with the common masses. I know he will always be with me, guiding my path, showing the ways to succeed. My heart and prayers go out to the family members. My sincere condolences. 
East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu in his brief message stated that “Obyak ji was many things to many people across the district and beyond. He embodied the true spirit of humanity through his many impactful endeavors. Everyone who ever came into contact with him over the years knows just how special a person he was. Our hearts are filled with sorrow upon hearing the news. The loss of someone dear to us is never easy, please accept my deepest condolence”.
Pasighat Market Association Secretary Mingge Tasung condoled the death and informed that Obyak ji’s demise has been mourned by the Pasighat Market Association, Chamber of Commerce and several organizations.
