PASIGHAT, Jul 24: Katu Lego, 94, one of the most prominent social figures of Adi belt passed away Sunday afternoon at Yapgo village, Pasighat. He was the father of Dr Kabang Lego, retired Director of Health & Family Welfare. According to family sources, his mortal remain will be brought to his native place Dambuk on Monday for the last rites. Mourners thronged the Yapgo residence to pay their last respect to the respected Katu with teary-eyes.
Katu is survived by a son and seven daughters including grandchildren. His son in laws include Kaptik Pertin former ASM, Roding Pertin Ex Minister, Tobang Pertin DFO and Raju Tayeng IRS.
Katu in his long innings of public life, served as ASM of Dambuk for two terms and also served as Gaon Bura of Remi village, Dambuk, under Lower Dibang Valley district for three decades and took voluntary retirement from the post of GB in 2020 due to old age. 
Meanwhile, MLAs Kaling Moyong, Ninong Ering and Lombo Tayeng and DC Tayi Taggu in their messages added that Katu was best known for his ideal works and condoled the demise and also conveyed their deep sense of sympathy to the family members.
