BASAR, May 29:The Tourism Department, with the support from ACT and APSED held a day long sensitizing program on "Community Based Ecotourism" at Panchayati Raj hall ,Basar. The program was attended by 52 individuals from government officials to unemployed youths and businessmen to housewives, led by a tourism post graduate from Basar and its adjoining villages. The training programme was also included homestay hospitality, rural tourism, and conservation
After interaction, the trainers' group decided to make four teams of the trainees and allowed them basic resource mapping of the area, so that the trainees get reasonable understanding of Rural Tourism and Community Participation. A majority of them were interested in developing Homestays and some of them in Forest based activities.
