Dahung, Feb 11: A monthlong ‘production oriented residential theatre workshop’ organized by National School of Drama, New Delhi at Centre Institute of Himalayan Cultural Studies (CIHCS), Dahung in West Kameng district was concluded on 10 February last.
A theatre play titled ‘Hamara Samay’ was presented on the occasion wherein around 20 school and under-graduate students who were groomed during the workshop took part. 
Gracing the occasion as its chief guest, Mokar Riba, additional deputy commissioner, Singchung, West Kameng district applauded the theatre team for their hard work. He said that a very good message from older to younger generation  has been conveyed through the concerned play and assured to support theatre in future in the state.
Meanwhile, Tenzin Nyima Glow, chief patron, Tenga United who was the guest of honour on the occasion, asked the theatre team to make a film on the same storyline. 
Among others, D K Thungon, renowned filmmaker from the state was also present as a special guest.
The script of the theatre play is designed and directed by Sukh Bashel, who is supported by Karpu Chisi as its assistant director, Guru Wangdi, acting improviser, Rashmita Saikia, voice-speech & acting faculty and Mintu Shaan, art & craft expert.
‘Hamara Samay’ is conceptualised to showcase migration of villagers to cities in search of employment effecting the ancestral culture and assets through an inter-caste love story between a
boy and Nepali girl. It shall highlight the potential of agriculture, entrepreneurship and tourism perspectives of the region.
The play also focused on the importance of endangered bird species Bugun liocichla which is reportedly found only in the Eaglenest bird sanctuary, West Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh.
