ITANAGAR, July 5: The Pro-Dam Movement of Arunachal Pradesh has sought white paper within 10 days on the upfront money worth Rs.1495 crore collected against at least 142 dams from various power developers by the state government.
Addressing the reporters at the press club today, President-PDMAP Taw Paul claimed that the union has already submitted its representation to both the state government as well as the Governor but is yet to receive any response.  “Hundreds of MoU were signed without consultation with the local people and without following any tender process," he asserted.
Pro-Dam Movement of Arunachal Pradesh has  sought the intervention of the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and requested him to scrap all the MoUs inked with various power developers without any delay. Moreover, most of the projects are not completed till date on the ground, it added. 
"The state government is under huge liabilities, as per the record available.  In  2007, the state government had taken a loan to the tune of Rs. 225 crores from NHPC Ltd @ 9% Interest net annum to revive the then sick Apex Bank of the state. It is learnt that till today the said money is not yet returned to NHPC Ltd. and the loan amount has now accumulated to the tune of Rs. 825 Crore," Paul claimed.
Further, the PDMAP also sought white paper on the details of revenue obtained @12% from already Commissioned Hydroelectric Project Viz  Ranganadi HEP (405) MW, Pare HEP (110MW) and Kameng REP (600 MW).
