ITANAGAR, May 6: The first sitting of the Privilege Committee of the 8h Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh was held today under the Chairmanship of Kardo Nyigyor, Deputy Speaker who is also the Chairman of the Privilege Committee.
During the sitting, the Committee initiated a breach of privilege motion against N.L. Kamin, Superintending Engineer, Rural Works Department (RWD), Rupa Circle, based on the allegations raised by Member of Legislative Assembly Kumar Waii, representing 8-Bamang Assembly Constituency.
The Committee heard both the parties at length. The Privilege Committee is now investigating the allegations and once it is proved that the allegations leveled are true, action will be initiated as per Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly under Article 194 of the Constitution of India.
Privilege Committee members who attended the sitting include legislators Chau Zingnoo Namchoom, Puinnyo Apum, Hayeng Mangfi, Hage Appa, Advocate General Indraneel Chowdhury, Secretary Tadar Meena, and Additional Secretary Agaab Mossang.
