ITANAGAR, Feb 21: President of India, Droupadi Murmu graced the 37th Statehood Day celebrations of Arunachal Pradesh and attended the civic reception hosted in her honour by the State Government at Itanagar on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the President said that being the largest state in the North-Eastern Region in terms of area as well as being a border state, Arunachal Pradesh is a very important state from strategic and geographical point of view. "Good infrastructure is essential for national security and economic development of the state," she said. 
She was happy to note that the Central Government has approved schemes worth more than rupees 44,000 crore for the development of National Highway Infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh. She said that Arunachal Pradesh has become a power surplus state with the commissioning of 600 MW Kameng Hydro Power Station. She expressed confidence that the recently inaugurated all weather Donyi Polo Airport would improve the connectivity of the State and also give a boost to trade and tourism.
The President said that the development of any society cannot be inclusive without the development of women. She was happy to note that about 47 percent representatives of Panchayats in Arunachal Pradesh are women. She said that women of Arunachal Pradesh are getting success in every field. She expressed confidence that women from across the country would take inspiration from women such as Anshu Jamsenpa who is the first woman to summit Mount Everest twice in five days and Tage Rita Takhe who is promoting women's participation in enterprise and taking local agro based products of Arunachal Pradesh to the international market.
"The first rays of the Sun fall on Arunachal Pradesh. The different tribes of Arunachal Pradesh, their cultural heritage, their unity in diversity, inspire all of us. It can be said that the society of Arunachal Pradesh is the microcosm of India," Murmu said.
Calling the state a rich biodiversity zone, she commended the Government of Arunachal Pradesh for adopting the “Pakke Declaration” to meet the challenges of climate change and conserve biodiversity. She also lauded the use of drone technology for agriculture, horticulture, health services and environment protection. She said these are important steps for environment conservation.
The President said that the entire North Eastern Region, including Arunachal Pradesh, is playing an important role in India's development. She was happy to note that several meetings of the G-20 are also being held in the North Eastern states. She was confident that these meetings would give a boost to the culture and tourism of the North Eastern states and generate investment opportunities in the Region.
Yupia: Along with the rest of the state,  the 37th Statehood day was celebrated across Papum Pare with pomp and traditional fervor.
At Yupia, Tabang Bodung, ADC(Hq) unfurled the National flag at Yupia ground.
He paid tributes to the first generation leaders of the state  who contributed in shaping the State of Arunachal Pradesh and called upon the denizens to uphold the virtuous path shown by them.
Drawing attention towards Arunachal Pradesh rich culture, flora and fauna ADC  Bodung added that “ Arunachal Pradesh, located in the Eastern Himalayas of India is the perfect state if anyone wishes to explore the tribal culture , simplicity and  exquisite natural beauty.  The amazing array of flora and fauna, in a unique habitat with glaciers,  high altitude meadows and sub-tropical forests add to the charm of the beautiful state.”
Speaking about the tourism potential of Papum Pare District he added that “Papum Pare district is ideally suited for eco-tourism activities like Nature Trails , Forest walks, visits to religious and culturally important monuments and sites, Village walks, Wildlife viewing, Hiking, Traditional cultural programs and local festivals. With the road, rail and air connectivity getting a major thrust, the tourism scenario in the district can be completely overhauled.”
He further called upon the youths and the entrepreneurs of the district to explore this plethora of opportunities and not just wait for government jobs.
At Sagalee, Former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki unfurled the National Flag at the mini secretariat ground, Sagalee.
At Balijan, MLA Tana Hali Tara unfurled the National Flag at the general ground Balijan in the presence of ADC i/ c Marchina Boria, HoDs, PRI members,GBs students and general public.
At Kimin, Bamang Mangha, Chairman Science and Technology attended the 37th Statehood day celebrations as the Chief Guest. Traditional folk dances from various Panchayat segments, band display by 10th Bn ITBP and VKV Sher were the main attractions of the celebrations.
At Doimukh, Tana Yaho, SDO Doimukh unfurled  the National Flag at the SDO office compound, Doimukh in the presence of officers, GBs and public.
At Mengio, Nabam Yazar, ZPM Mengio unfurled the National Flag at the general ground Mengio in the presence of Tana Bapu, EAC Mengio, PRI members  GBs and students.
PASIGHAT: The 37th Statehood Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in the JNC playground, Pasighat here on Monday. The national tri-colour was hoisted by the Addl. Deputy Commissioner Tatdo Borang, in presence of Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong, PMC Chief Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, PRI leaders, municipal councilors, retired bureaucrats, officers and leaders followed by Guard of honour by IRBn Jawans.
Addressing on the occasion, ADC Borang briefed on significance of the day and reminded the contributions of the leaders in state building process. He threw lights on political, administrative development, constitutional growth and formation of full-fledged Arunachal Pradesh. He mentioned various development activities undertaken by the government departments at district level and appealed the citizens to extend full cooperation to the administration in making East Siang a smart district in all fronts.
Chief Guest Borang gave away certificate of appreciation to Ruksin CO Oyam Saring, Namsing CO Radhe Tatung and Mondal John Panyang for their hard work in the process of interstate boundary settlement. Borang released “Ngilman Kilaju” (In English: Let us laugh), a book authored by Er. Tashiram Pertin and inaugurated International Year of Millet-2023 stall set up by Agriculture department and also visited other crowed pulling stalls on the occasion.
The day was also prohibited at Ruksin and Mebo.
LOHIT: 37th Statehood Day was celebrated at Jubilee ground Tezu today where Shashvat Saurabh, DC Lohit unfurled the National Flag. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Lohit District Administration is trying its best to curb the illicit opium cultivation in the district and appealed the public to co-operate with the DA in this effort. He exhorted all to take benefits of the Skill Development Program for income generation and livelihood. He gave his best wishes to students appearing the ongoing CBSE examinations.
Colourful cultural programs were also held on the occasion. Stalls of different departments were also showcased.
DC also handed over Tractors and combined thresher to the beneficiaries of Sub Mission Agri Mechanisation Scheme.
Roing: ZPC Tony Borang hoisting the National Flag, in the presence of DC Soumya Saurabh, ZPM Rajen Mickrow, dignitaries, government functionaries and students of the area at Roing.
Addressing the gathering, Borang enjoined all to work hard with dedication and sincerity to become the torchbearers for the state.
The ZPC also spoke about all the different tribes and communities of the state living in harmony and said that all issues should be resolved amongst the communities/ tribes in a peaceful and amicable way. He also advised the students to be sincere in their studies and bring good results and take forward the name of the district.
A day also saw the launch of a pocket brochure on tourism, with an aim to highlight the tourism potential of the district and encourage local entrepreneurs run businesses in the town. 
NAMSAI: The 37th Statehood day was celebrated with much pomp and fervour at APIL ground Namsai. ZPC, Namsai Nang Urmila Mancheykhun unfurled the national flag amidst a colossal public gathering. The chief guest in her address extended warm greetings of 37th Statehood day to the denizens of the district.Cultural dance troops and exhibition from various departments, SHGs made the occasion more lively. Prizes were distributed to winners of State level Olympiad, Speech competition and Baby show.ADC, Namsai S. Mining, HoDs, GBs, PRI members etc. among others were present on the occasion.The Statehood day was also celebrated in all the admin outposts viz. Lekang, Chongkham, Lathao, Piyong in a befitting manner.
Vehicles procured under Arunachal Grameen Express Yojana was flagged off by ZPC, Namsai. Furthermore, flagging off of cycle rally to create awareness on Nasha Mukht Bharat and Climate Change was done by ADC. As a part of Arunachal Rising Campaign, awareness and information pamphlets on various financial inclusion schemes were distributed during the event.
Bomdila: Statehood Day was celebrated in a befitting manner in all the Administrative Circles of West Kameng District on Monday.
At Bomdila, ZPC Rinchin Zomba Merapka graced the celebrations as chief guest and unfurled the national flag. In her address to the public, she highlighted the progress made in the 37 years of Arunachal Pradesh gaining Statehood. She also highlighted the steps taken by the present government in resolving the interstate boundary dispute between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
She urged the youths to say 'no to drugs and yes to life'. She also appealed to the parents to give proper guidance and counseling to their children for a healthy life.
During the occasion various tribes of West Kameng District viz Monpa, Aka, Sajolang (Miji) etc. participated in the cultural programmes. 
Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki, Brig. Tarun Agrawal Off GOC, were present among others.
Tawang: Zila Chairperson, Tawang  Leki Gombu unfurled the national flag at the district headquarters.
Congratulating the people of Arunachal Pradesh for the development and achievements made by the state in the last 36 years, Gombu remembered the contributions made by leaders, employees and public in making present Arunachal. He lauded the present state government led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu in bringing all round development in the state and for empowering Panchayati raj institution and allocating funds for grass root development. 
He paid his tribute to late Thupten Tempa, late Karma Wangchu former ministers and late Jambey Tashi, former MLA from Lungla. While congratulating Tsering lhamu wife of late Jambey Tashi on being elected unopposed as MLA from Lungla, he expressed his hope that under her leadership Lungla will continue to achieve new heights of development and accomplish the developmental projects initiated by late Jambey Tashi. He informed the gathering about various welfare schemes and its benefits to farmers, unemployed youths and general public.
On this occassion the agriculture department Tawang displayed various foods including traditional monpa cuisine prepared by self help groups from different millets to mark the international year of millet. While three officials of ICDS department were felicitated with commendation certificate for their meritorious service.
Deputy Commissioner,Tawang Kesang Ngurup Damo, Abbot Tawang monastery Shelding Tulku rinpoche, were present among a host of spectators.
AALO: Former minister Doi Ado unfurled the national flag at the Govt. Hr. Sec School Playground here.
In his speech he threw light on the development trajectory of the state and thanked the State and central leadership for the development.
He also urged the teachers to dedicated more on quality education as students are the future of society.
Later along with Deputy Commissioner of West Siang, Penga Tato, the chief guest flagged off six vehicles under ArSRLM and the day also saw colourful cultural troupes performing.
Khonsa: The 37th  Statehood Day was celebrated in all administrative circles and schools across Tirap district in a befitting manner.
Greeting the public on the occasion, Chief guest  cum ZPM Khonsa Block Wanghong Panka paid tributes to all the veterans and pioneers who had steered the state from the then NEFA to the present Arunachal Pradesh, which has seen a sea of change and prosperity. 
The celebration was attended by DC Tirap Hento Karga, Tumwang Lowang, ZPM Khela-Bunting Block, Tediap Hallang, ZPM Bari-Basip Block among others.
Yingkiong: 37th Statehood Day was celebrated in a befitting manner here at general ground Yingkiong on Monday.
ZPM Geku Nyong Panyang graced the occasion as chief guest and unfurled the national flag in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Hage Lailang, HoDs, public leaders and others.
Greeting the people, Panyang narrated the journey of attaining statehood from erstwhile NEFA to full fledged Statehood on 20th February 1987.
Further, he also  highlighted various ongoing developmental works in the district for the benefit of entire people of the district.
Further, to mark the day, the Chief guest and DC distributed certificate of Appreciation to six individuals in appreciation of the selfless services rendered by them at grassroots level under the aegis of Arunachal Rising Campaign.
To promote celebration of International Year of Millets, different varieties of millets crops produced in the district were exhibited by the department of Agriculture, Yingkiong.
Under the aegis of  Village Vibrant Programme, 37th Statehood day was also celebrated at Tuting. To mark the day cultural, games and sports activities were conducted. 
Ziro: The 37th Statehood Day was celebrated at Padi Yube Outdoor Stadium.
Unfurling the national flag, Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Bamin Nime read out the landmarks of the state after achieving Statehood in 1987 from being a Union Territory and highlighted the various achievements of the Pema Khandu led government.
While pointing out that Lower Subansiri was now reckoned as a front runner district for several all round developments taking place under the leadership of two performing ministers Er.Tage Taki and Taba Tedir, the DC informed that the District was now better connected with TAH nearly completed in this stretch which had shortened the travel time from Ziro to Itanagar by three hours from the previous six hours while introduction of air connectivity to Ziro had also brought great relief to tourists and domestic travelers.
Highlighting the other significant developments taking place in the district, the DC particularly informed that Yachuli sub-division under Ziro-II circle was developing at a very fast pace which had the potential to be headquarter of the proposed Keyi-Panyor District.
Meanwhile, the DC also appealed the citizens to cooperate and supplement the District Administration in its efforts to curb the drug menace and garbage management.
The day-long celebration was marked by band display by students of VKV Ziro, release of music video album of legendary Apatani singer Hage Ade Volume-II under the banner of Aato Alung Production House, presentation of commendation certificates and awards to 11 individual achievers and display of cultural items. The final men’s volley ball match was also played between the Education and Police teams in which the former defeated the latter in two straight set games.
Earlier, ADC Hq. Millo Kojin inaugurated the ten exhibition stalls put up by several Govt. departments, SHG’s, NGO’s and Cooperative Societies.
