ITANAGAR, Jul 10: In a commendable display of prompt action, the Itanagar Police rescued a man identified as Reri Boje, an Assistant Engineer (AE) of the Rural Works Department (RWD), within two hours of receiving his abduction report. The incident occurred at around 10 AM on Monday, when three unknown individuals abducted  Boje from the Gandhi Market area in Itanagar. The abductors used a white car (Hyundai Creta) for the criminal act.
Upon receiving the First Information Report (FIR), registered under ITA PS Case No. 153/23, the case was assigned to Inspector S. Roy for investigation, informed Superintendent of Police (ICR)  Jimmy Chiram.
The Itanagar Police immediately initiated a search operation to locate the victim. Within a short span of time, the police team successfully located and rescued Boje from the vicinity of Richi Jullang area near the Chimpu-Jullang bridge.
The swift response of the police led to the apprehending of three suspects --Yarkum Rimo (40), Mako Rimo (23), and Tah Rimo (35). All three individuals hail from Fengche village in Seppa, East Kameng District. Further, the car used in the abduction was also seized by the police as evidence.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the abduction was motivated by personal reasons, shedding light on the motive behind the incident.
The rescue of Reri Boje can be attributed to the efficient and coordinated efforts of the Itanagar Police team, comprising Inspector Yangfo, Inspector Riram, Sub-Inspector A.K. Jha, and Itanagar Police Station personnel, led by Officer-in-Charge Pawan Yadav, IPS (under training). Their prompt and effective response played a crucial role in swiftly resolving the abduction case, stated the SP.
