Naharlagun, Jan 24: As part of the ongoing Road Safety Month themed "Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha," the Naharlagun Police conducted awareness programs at local schools, focusing on instilling road safety habits among students.
At VKV School, Nirjuli, an essay competition encouraged students to articulate their understanding of road safety, while APP Welfare Pre-Primary School, Naharlagun, hosted a drawing and painting competition to creatively highlight the importance of safe road practices.
The events attracted enthusiastic participation from students who showcased their ideas and creativity. Through their essays and artwork, they emphasized the need to follow road safety rules to reduce accidents and save lives.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police, Naharlagun, Mihin Gambo praised the students for their efforts and highlighted the role of such activities in fostering a culture of safety and responsibility. He reaffirmed the police's dedication to raising awareness through continuous outreach programs and encouraged students to take the lead in promoting road safety within their communities.
The program part of a broader campaign during Road Safety Month, reflects the police department's commitment to creating a safer environment by educating the younger generation about the importance of responsible road behaviour, stated a release.
