ITANAGAR, May 21: The Capital police arrested six people and seized 27.2 grams of suspected heroin from their possession from ICR and Gohpur, Assam recently.
Addressing the media persons at the Chimpu police station SP-ICR, Jimmy Chiram informed that the during a detailed motor vehicle check on May 17 last, three persons, Thomas Gyadi, Kamin Neri and James Tungi were arrested with suspected narcotic substance of 12 grams.
During interrogation, it was disclosed that heroines were being supplied somewhere from Gohpur, Assam. Subsequently a team of police was constituted from the Chimpu police station, and with help from Assam police, three more people were arrested from Gohpur.
“The police arrested Phulan Kaman, Papu Saikia and Ajay Singhi from the Gohpur area and also more narcotic substances recovered from their possession. The possession also included sale proceeds amounting Rupees 28, 000,” said SP while adding that 220 empty vials, 20 vials filled with heroin and one Scotty and a motorcycle were also seized.
