Itanagar, Jul 31: In a commendable display of prompt action and effective investigation, Chimpu Police solved a theft case reported from Agam Colony, Gohpur. The operation led to the recovery of stolen items and the arrest of a notorious repeat offender.
The case came to light when one Deepak Kumar (30), a resident of Agam Colony, lodged a complaint at Chimpu Police Station regarding the theft of his Lenovo tablet and an Indane LPG cylinder from his rented residence on June 24 last. Responding without delay, the police registered a case and entrusted the investigation to Sub-Inspector Tamo Bakhang.
Though initial leads were scarce, the investigation team launched a focused probe, combining technical surveillance with field-level inquiries and activation of local intelligence networks. Their efforts paid off when Arjun Bagang, a known habitual offender, was identified as the prime suspect.
The accused was swiftly apprehended and, during sustained interrogation, confessed to the crime. Acting on his disclosure, the police team recovered both the stolen Lenovo tablet and the LPG cylinder, which have been seized as per legal procedures,stated a release.
