Nirjuli, Sep 3: In a decisive action against fraud and breach of trust, the Nirjuli Police arrested a Bangalore-based transporter for allegedly cheating a young entrepreneur from Arunachal Pradesh.
According to the FIR lodged by one Likha Taja of P-Sector, Nirjuli, arcade gaming machines ordered from Timezone Pvt. Ltd. and entrusted to Agarwal Packers and Movers were not only delayed but misrouted to Guwahati before being delivered in a badly damaged condition. Shockingly, despite full payment, the complainant was compelled to pay additional charges for onward transportation to Itanagar.
Acting swiftly, a police team led by SI Techi Tado and Ct. Sanu Raj T apprehended the accused, Pawan Kumar (36), a resident of B Block, Singsandra, Hosur Road, Bangalore, on August 30. The accused was produced before the Yupia Court for further legal proceedings.
Superintendent of Police, ICR, Dr. Nyelam Nega, reiterated that the police remains committed to protecting the interests of the public and warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in cheating and fraudulent practices.
