ROING, Nov 24: In a concerted effort to eliminate illegal activities and foster a safer community, the Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) Police have taken decisive actions against various unlawful practices in the district over the past 24 hours.
In alignment with “Operation Dawn”,  LDV Police apprehended a drug peddler near Shantipur on the inter-state border. The accused is now under custody, and a case has been registered against him.
Further, in accordance with the Arunachal Pradesh Gambling Prohibition (APGP) Act 2012, LDV Police busted a gambling operation in Roing township last night, where individuals were found playing dice for money. The District Commissioner/Deputy Commissioner (DC/DM) has issued an executive order prohibiting all forms of gambling, including Housie, dice, and boli.
Amid reports of rampant illegal timbering causing family disputes, environmental degradation, encroachment, and theft, the LDV Police have launched a mission to verify and curb this menace. During night patrols over the past two nights, authorities intercepted three timber-laden trucks carrying fresh crude logs in violation of government regulations. The vehicles were seized near Police Stations in Roing and Dambuk .
