Arunachal farmers receive Rs 21.24 Cr under Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

ITANAGAR, May 31: Scores of people thronged the Dorjee Khandu Convention Hall to witness the much awaited virtual interaction programme with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various schemes as part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' today. The programme conducted by the Rural Development Department was participated keenly by chief minister Pema Khandu, Union minister Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Minister Home and Rural Development Bamang Felix among others.
All these schemes address the poorest segments of the population, therefore, the event was aptly named as “Garib Kalyan Sammelan”.  The principal objective of the interaction is not only to understand how these schemes have brought about ease of living for the citizens, but also to explore possibility of convergence and saturation.  This will also give an opportunity to assess citizens aspiration for India as it completes 100 years of independence in the year 2047.
The Sammelan was one of the largest ever single-event nationwide interaction spanning all districts wherein the Prime Minster interacted with beneficiaries about the impact of wide-ranging schemes/programmes covering housing, availability of potable water, food, health and nutrition, livelihood and financial inclusion, etc.
All districts of the state also keenly participated and the event was also made Live on social media by the IPR department. This event was linked with the national event when the Prime Minister appeared Live from Shimla interacting with the beneficiaries across the country.
The Prime Minister also released the 11th instalment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana under which farmers of Arunachal received Rupees 21.24 crore through direct benefit transfer.
