PASIGHAT, Jan 20: One of the pioneer women educationists of the state and an inspiring role model, retired Joint Director of the state education department, Rongili Mibang breathed her last on Thursday afternoon at her Mirku Dapi residence  here at Pasighat. She leaves behind two sons, daughter in laws and grandchildren. Rongili was the wife of former Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) and noted academician and eminent scholar of Tribal Studies, Late Professor Tamo Mibang.
Prominent personalities, relatives and well wishers also paid their last respects at her residence and her mortal remains were laid to rest today.
Local MLAs Kaling Moyong, Ninong Ering and Lombo Tayeng, East Siang DC Tayi Taggu and DDSE Odhuk Tabing conveying their profound grief and sorrow stated that they all were utterly shocked and dismayed. Sharing their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members during this extremely difficult time all prayed almighty to give them enough strength to come out of this irreparable loss.
Born on 26th November (1958), Rongili completed her BA in 1976 and MA in 1978. She served as DDSE Changlang in 2000-2002 and in the same capacity in Papumpare from 2003 to 2005.
East Siang District Administration had felicitated Late Rongili Mibang on March 8, 2021 last along with other women pioneers and achievers, on the occasion of International Women’s Day celebration, organised by the Women and Child Development department at Pasighat.
