ITANAGAR, Jun 23: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Itanagar, functioning under the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, organized a 'Vartalap' programme at Arunachal Press Club (APC) today to mark the completion of nine years of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central Government. 
Talo Potom, Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Region (ICR), took part in the 'Vartalap' as the Chief Guest while Onyok Pertin, Director, DIPR Arunachal Pradesh, attended the programme as the Guest of Honor. The 'Vartalap' programme was organized as a media workshop and a platform for interaction with Itanagar based journalists.
In his address, the DC said that he has seen more development in the last nine years than in the 21 years of his 30 years of government service. He said that the present central and state government are truly committed to development. 
Director, DIPR  said that media is an important link between the government and the people and it should play a constructive role in society. 
Arunachal Press Club, Vice President Bengia Ajum called upon the media and government officials to discharge their responsibilities honestly. 
During the programme, the Central Bureau of Communications (CBC) Itanagar also put up a mini-exhibition at the Arunachal Press Club on the theme of '9 Years of Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan' to mark the completion of nine years of the Modi government. On this occasion, technical sessions were also organized on the National Education Policy & its implementation in Arunachal Pradesh, Digital India Mission & Emerging Social Media Platforms, Role of SIRD in Rural Development and Banking related Central government schemes.
Dr. Ratna Tayeng of DNGC, Yater Pari &  Banya Boje of Department of IT & Communications, Dr. Likha Kiran of SIRD, Department of  Panchayati Raj and Soibam Ranjit Singh, Chief Manager, Lead Bank, SBI Itanagar participated as resource persons on the given subjects respectively. 
Addressing the 'Vartalaap', the Assistant Director of PIB Kohima, K. Sonikumar Singh briefed the media persons about the working of PIB while Priyabhanshu Ranjan, Officer-in-charge of PIB Itanagar, said that the formal establishment of a permanent office of PIB Itanagar would become a reality soon. He also informed the journalists about the Journalist Welfare Scheme of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The Officer-in-charge of CBC Itanagar, Rakesh Doley moderated the event.
