ZIRO, Jul 6: Education Minister PD Sona attended the 8th Siilang Ditting Dree festival as the chief guest at Hija village, Ziro on July 5. Extending Dree greetings to the residents of Ziro Valley, Sona advocated for the preservation of the rich culture and tradition of the Apatani tribe.
“Our local festivals must be celebrated in the spirit of the festival to foster a feeling of brotherhood and fraternity,” he said, urging the people to keep festivals non-political as far as possible. He also emphasized on preservation and promotion of tribal languages.
Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Hydro Power Development Corporation of Arunachal Pradesh Limited, Toko Onuj also attended as the guest of honour.
