ITANAGAR, Aug 28:In a major embarrassment for State Transport Department, passengers boarding a State transport bus from Likabali to Gensi on August 27 had to pay from their own pocket to refill fuel for the bus as none of the petrol depots of the area was ready to provide fuel due to huge outstanding balance by the department.
Informing this, the Yego Banggo Students Union (YBSU) which claimed to have interacted with the passengers following the development has informed that it came to light that APST owes huge amounts to every depot owing to which they stopped supplying fuel to state transport buses”.
Raising serious concern over the incident, it later requested the Chief Secretary to look into the matter seriously and initiate action against those misusing the fund of public transport utility.
