PASIGHAT, Jan 31: In a significant breakthrough, Pasighat Police successfully recovered a stolen motorcycle and arrested two individuals involved in the theft.
The case was registered at Pasighat Police Station following a complaint by one Dondup Choiphel, whose KTM Duke 200 was stolen from his residence on the night of January 8.
Acting on intelligence inputs, the police team traced the stolen bike to a KTM service center in Dhemaji, Assam. A swift and coordinated operation was launched under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Pasighat, and the guidance of the SDPO, Pasighat. With support from Jonai Police, the team tracked the suspect and apprehended Harinath Doley (23), a resident of No.1 Milonpur, Laimekuri, Assam and the stolen bike was recovered from his possession.
Further interrogation led to the arrest of Bishnu Pegu (33), a resident of Bijoypur, Jonai, Assam, who had allegedly sold the stolen motorcycle to Harinath Doley.
Both accused have been formally arrested and produced before the court, stated a release.
