Yupia, Jun 18: The Papum Pare district administration has launched the Stop Diarrhea Campaign 2025, aimed at reducing the incidence of diarrhea among children under the age of 5 years, particularly during the summer and monsoon seasons. The campaign was inaugurated by EAC Dani Rikang at PM Shree Middle School Yupia on Wednesday..
The campaign will include monitoring of 5,103 children under the age of 0-5 years for diarrhea cases; Provision of ORS and Zinc Tablets at all the four Community Health Centers (CHCs), 13 Primary Health Centers (PHCs), and 27 sub-centers across the district.
The campaign also emphasizes the importance of proper hygiene practices, including hand washing techniques, and awareness about diarrhea prevention. A demonstration on hand washing techniques and ORS preparation was conducted during the launch event.
Speaking on the occasion EAC Dani Rikang assured full support from the district administration and urged everyone to work enthusiastically towards improving healthcare delivery in the district.
Dr. Mrs. R. Rina Ronya, District Medical Officer, highlighted the significance of the Stop Diarrhea Campaign and its objectives.
The launch event concluded with a tree plantation program at the school campus, symbolizing the district's commitment to a healthy environment.
The program was attended by district officials, healthcare professionals, teachers, and students.
