Doimukh, Aug 22: The District Measles-Rubella Elimination Campaign was officially launched today by Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, District Health Society, Papum Pare (Rural), Vishakha Yadav, at CHC Doimukh.
The launching programme witnessed the presence of DMO Yupia, Dr R. Rina Ronya, SDO Doimukh, DRCHO, Programme Officers, PRIs of Doimukh Block, representatives from WHO and VHAI, and the health staff of CHC Doimukh.
Welcoming the gathering, the DMO highlighted the objectives of the campaign, stressing its significance in protecting children from measles and rubella. She informed that the campaign will run from August 21-27, targeting all children aged 9 months to 5 years to be vaccinated with MR1 and MR2 doses.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Vishakha Yadav emphasised the importance of coordination with grassroots leaders, stating that PRIs, influencers, and community speakers will play a vital role in reaching families hesitant towards vaccination. She also congratulated the district for achieving 100% immunization coverage in 2024-25, and called upon all stakeholders to extend full cooperation in every child health programme.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. TanaTalin Tara, Medical Officer in-charge of CHC Doimukh, appreciating the support of all dignitaries, partners, and health workers in making the campaign a success.
