Yupia, Jun 29: The Papum Pare Local Complaints Committee for sexual harassment at workplace has been constituted with Advocate Nani Modi as the chairperson. The other members include DMO Dr. Komlin Perme, Labour Officer Higio Nassum(CO), EAC Dani Rikang, Aroti Tayeng, DD,ICDS, Techi Natu and Chukhu Tadap.
This committee shall also receive the complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace from establishments having less than ten workers or if the complaint is against the employer himself and where the internal committee has not been constituted.
Further in the rural areas of Papum Pare district ADC Kimin, ADC Sagalee, ADC Balijan, SDO Doimukh and EAC Mengio shall be the nodal officers of their jurisdictions and ensure complaints are received and forwarded to the Local Complaints Committee within a period of seven days.
The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 was enacted to tackle the menace of sexual harassment at work place and to ensure the dignity and respect for women at the workplace. DIPRO
