Yupia, May 30: The officials of Papum Pare district bid a heartfelt farewell to Jiken Bomjen, Deputy Commissioner, Papum Pare, on his superannuation on Thursday. Colleagues shared experiences and interactions with the Deputy Commissioner, widely acknowledging and appreciating his humility, which fostered open communication, active listening, and teamwork.
Jiken Bomjen has had a distinguished career spanning over three decades. He began his government service in 1987 as a Junior Teacher and later joined the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service (APCS) in 1995.
He worked as a Junior Teacher, serving in Ruksin, Lumpo, and Nari Secondary School for a total of eight years. In 1995, he was appointed to the APCS Entry Grade and posted as Circle Officer in Sagalee, where he played a key role in coordinating flood relief during the 1998 flash flood and helped establish new Circle Offices at Leporiang and Toru.
In 2023, Bomjen was promoted to APCS Administrative Grade and assumed charge as Deputy Commissioner, Papum Pare, in December 2023.
His major achievements include successful conduct of the 2024 Parliamentary and Assembly elections as RO and DEO for Papum Pare; played an active role in resolving Assam-Arunachal boundary disputes through field inspections and stakeholder engagement in 2024 and 2025 and also played a key role in making the FTI Arunachal Pradesh, Jote functional.
