Yazali, Dec 16: The polling for Panchayat Elections in Keyi Panyor district was conducted successfully, smoothly, and peacefully across all six Zilla segments, covering a total of 46 polling stations on Monday. The polling process remained orderly throughout and no major untoward incident was reported.
The elections were conducted under the overall supervision of the District Election Officer, Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta, with the support of the Deputy District Election Officer, and the Superintendent of Police, Angad Mehta. Robust police deployment and effective security arrangements played a crucial role in maintaining law and order and ensuring a safe environment for voters.
The District Election Officer expressed sincere appreciation to all Polling Parties led by Presiding Officers, Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers, Sector Magistrates, Sector Police Officers, and all police personnel deployed at polling stations, including those deployed at the last minute.
The DEO also placed on record her appreciation for the excellent work done by the Election Branch under the leadership of the ADC-cum-Deputy DEO, the police machinery led by the Superintendent of Police, and all Nodal Officers, who discharged their responsibilities with precision and commitment.
Although the elections were expected to be sensitive and complex in certain areas, the exemplary coordination between the civil administration and the police ensured that the entire process remained smooth and well-managed at all stages. The District Administration also acknowledged the cooperation extended by political parties and candidates, which contributed significantly to the peaceful conduct of the elections.
Counting of votes will be held on December 20 at the Indoor Badminton Stadium, starting from 8:00 AM onwards.
