Aalo, May 23: After thirty-three years, Paktu Ete Bango which includes, Bene, Pobdi, Paya, Wak, Kugi etc village celebrated the Mopin festival with great pomp and gaiety. Brigadier Ritesh Katoch (Sena Medal), Superintendent of Police Kardak Riba and Er Jumkar Bagra EE Power graced the occasion as Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Special Guest respectively at Pobdi general ground.
Karge Ete, President Festival celebration Committee, welcomed all the dignitaries and appealed to the people of the villages to preserve the age-old culture of the Galo communities.
While addressing the public, Brigadier Ritesh Katoch appealed to the people of the area to protect and preserve the rich culture and traditions of the Galo people for the coming generation.
MLA Topin Ete in his address to the public, said that within a year his constituency is on the path of development. Many important roads, bridges and common developmental projects have been undertaken by him. The MLA further appealed to the people of his constituency not to hinder development projects.
SP Kardak Riba appealed to the youth of the district to abstain from drug menace and informed the public that most of the kingpins of drug peddling in the district are in police custody.
