ITANAGAR, Jun 27: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), Itanagar in collaboration with the One Stop Centre (OSC), Naharlagun conducted a one day legal awareness programme today at Hollongi Village. The topics on One Stop Centre, Crime Against Women, Prevention of Drug Menace and Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Scheme were main highlights of the programme. 
Kenjum Pakam, Chairperson, APSCW expressed her concern over the substance abuse by the younger generation. She requested the parents to motivate their children to pursue their interested co-curriculum activities so that they are not involved in drugs or alcohol.
"Since Hollongi is a border area, the risk of drug peddling will be higher," she said requesting the concerned dwellers to be vigilant and cooperate with police in checking this menace. She informed that the women of victims can avail shelter in One Stop Centres in case they don’t have any place to stay. She requested the general public to support the victims of crimes.
Nada Nampi, Centre Administrator, One Stop Centre, Naharlagun elaborated on power and function of OSC.
Komna Moidam, Member, APSCW spoke on Prevention of Drug Menace and how it spoils the life of a person, family and society. She also informed the participants how to help the de-addicted persons to lead a normal life and join in the noble cause for society. 
Further, in regards to the alleged rape of a minor by her stepfather circulating in social media, the APSCW Chairperson condemned such heinous crime against a minor and requested the Chairperson, AP State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) to intervene into the matter and direct the law enforcing authority to register the case so that the child in need of care is given justice. The Commission also requested the concern authority to take immediate action to nab the alleged accused.
