ITANAGAR, May  2: The Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) said that a mass protest in the form of 'dharna' will be held on May 6 next against the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), following the delay in bringing a satisfactory conclusion in the APPSC cash-for-job scam case despite months of investigation.
The committee also appealed to the chief of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to set up camp in the state capital, Itanagar. It also condemned the recent notification issued by the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) regarding the non-issuance of information about the examination.
Addressing the media at the press club here today, PAJSC member Techi Rana said that months have passed but there is no progress and no fresh outcome in the APPSC cash-for-job scam case investigated by the CBI. Moreover, the chargesheet filed against accused Taket Jerang, Jobom Chang Mengu, and Obur Jerang by the CBI is also not satisfactory.
 “We feel that the CBI and the state government are not at all interested in punishing the culprits involved in the scam. Time and again the aspirants have been providing inputs to the CBI but still there is no new development in the case,” he said, hoping that the agency will come up with a satisfactory conclusion to the matter and segregate the entire case.
Rana also informed that the committee will continue the protest at the CBI office premises if their voice is not responded to by the state government.
“The PAJSC also outrightly condemned the recent notification issued by the APSSB, claiming that the committee has been fighting for free & fair means of exam conduct in the state irrespective of any group exams." He said the clear order by the APSSB for non-issuance of answer keys to the aspirants is uncalled and raises serious concern for the aspirants.
Meanwhile, another PAJSC member, Hage Butung said that the CBI has set up its office at Itanagar and therefore, to minimize the financial issues as well as security concerns of the complainants, who are mostly aspirants, the ED should also set up camp in the state capital, Itanagar.
The PAJSC also said that the committee is not satisfied with the police investigation of the mysterious death of former Under Secretary APPSC, Tumi Gangkak. Despite the issuance of clean chit by the SIT and SIC of the state police, the present investigating team is accusing the deceased of corruption and other charges, it said.
The committee further added that the entire allegations against the deceased are futile and the state police should refrain from diverting the case from murder to suicide.
