ITANAGAR, Jul 17: The Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) has expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of the CBI investigation into the APPSC cash for job scam. The committee claimed  that the CBI has been unable to make any concrete progress in the case despite passing of many months.
Comparing the magnitude of the APPSC Job Scam to India’s infamous Vyapam scam, Tadak Nalo, a member of PAJSC, criticized the efficiency of the CBI's functioning. Despite the passage of eight to nine months, the CBI has not yet filed a complete chargesheet, which has raised doubts among the public about the agency's ability to deliver an optimistic outcome. The committee also alleged that the authorities seemed more focused on targeting the complainants rather than apprehending those allegedly involved in the scam.
During a visit to the CBI office in Itanagar on Monday, Nalo informed that they  were assured by the CBI  that a chargesheet would be filed soon. However, CBI officials informed that they are facing a shortage of officials. The agency had requested at least ten Investigation Officers from the state government, but only two were provided. PAJSC criticized the government's reluctance to allocate sufficient resources for the investigation, noting that the same government had mobilized a large police force to arrest the aspirants involved in the scam.
Expressing concerns over the compromised nature of the investigation, Nalo added that if the CBI failed to deliver the expected results, it would raise suspicions of compromised integrity within the agency. Stating that, Nalo asserted that PAJSC firmly stands with the issue and  would not back down and demanded accountability from all investigating agencies on the investigation.
Chairperson PAJSC  Techi Puru while expressing concern over the  CBI's performance, he emphasized the need for a court monitored probe into the APPSC Job Scam and the late Tumi Gangkak murder case. Puru, also  highlighted the lack of action by the state government to initiate a court monitored probe, stating that the committee had no trust in the SIC, which falls under the state government's jurisdiction.
Puru,  further stressed that only through a court-monitored investigation could proper progress be made, as nearly eight months had passed without any concrete results. PAJSC demanded that both cases be monitored by the court to ensure a fair and unbiased investigation.
