ITANAGAR, Aug  11:  The Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) has strongly criticized the state government for misleading the public and failing to fulfill the 13-point demand that was promised by the Chief Minister on February 18 last.
In a press conference, Tadak Nalo, Vice Chairman of PAJSC, expressed the committee's frustration and disappointment, highlighting the serious repercussions of the government's inaction.
"Two lives have been lost; individuals have faced the controversial APUAPA Act, and many have been imprisoned for bravely raising concerns about the prevailing corruption within the system. Despite these sacrifices, the government has not delivered justice," he said.
The unresolved issue, now almost a year old, has left the committee disillusioned and determined to persist until the demands are met. Nalo declared, "PAJSC will not retreat from this cause; we are resolute in our pursuit of justice for the people of Arunachal."
The committee has announced its intention to initiate a Civil Disobedience Movement if the state government fails to reach a satisfactory resolution. Nalo pointed out the lack of progress in the case despite the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) being assigned to investigate the corruption allegations. He criticized the state government for not providing adequate support to the CBI and highlighted the absence of updates on the matter.
While appealing the public to continue to extend their support, Nalo informed that aspirants are going to organize protest on August 16 next, and appealed to everyone to join them. If today we can’t change the system, then it will take another 100 years to bring revolution in our system, he said.
Nalo also questioned the frequent issuance of APUAPA against PAJSC members by the District Administration. He argued that such measures should be directed against those encroaching upon government land rather than targeting individuals dedicated to social service.
PAJSC's determination and their call for accountability stand as a reminder that the pursuit of justice and reform is a collective responsibility that requires unwavering dedication from both the public and authorities.
