KHONSA, May 19:  One day orientation programme on Juvenile Justice Act and Rules 2020 and Adoption Regulation 2022 under Mission Vatsalya (Child Protection Service Scheme) was held at Khonsa today.
Dy. Director (WCD) Hacham Bangsia highlighted the aims and objective of  one day orientation training on JJA (Juvenile Justice Act) and Rules, POCSO and Adoption in which she appealed all the stakeholders to make awareness about sexual abuse under POCSO.
Resource persons explained elaborately on types of sexual offenses against children and their punishment and various provisions under  POCSO Act; About Child in Conflict with Law, and Child in Need of Care and Protection; Eligibility criteria for Adoptive Prospective Parents including Special Adoption Agencies rights and the criteria to be followed with adopting a child. 
In the open discussion session, parents were urged to keep vigil on their children of below 18 years and not to hide any kind of sexual harassment with children in work place as well as at home. They also urged all not to support   offenders if found guilty. 
The program was also attended by all stakeholders including DMO Dr. N. Lowang, CDPOs among others.
