KERANG, May 25: In a noble gesture, members of North East Human Rights Organisation (NEHRO)  led by its  President  Asinto Pangge, legal Advisor  Vijoy Mize  accompanied by General Secretary, AdiSU Apex   Buteng Tayeng and President AdiSU East Siang Unit Onong Siram today visited Kerang Village and contributed  immediate relief materials to the victims of recent fire accident that occurred on May 11 last.

The team donated beddings to the 29 affected families.

In the sidelines of the visit, NEHRO team also held a coordination meeting with AdiSU and villagers over the absence of basic amenities like healthcare facilities in the village. The villagers have to travel to Kaying CHC during any emergency which is almost 10KM far from the village . 

Further NEHRO also urged the state government to immediately repair the lone hanging bridge which connects Kerang village to rest of the state as well as to construct Kerang to Bogne Road which was abandoned since last couple of years and a permanent steel bridge over river Siyom.  

The team as well as villagers further extended gratitude to MoS Home Kiren Rijiju for contributing Rs  5 lakhs for immediate relief and also to every single individual, NGOs and District Administration  who came forward  to extend help to the victims .
