ITANAGAR, May 6: In an enthralling game played today, East Siang (Girls) defeated West Siang by 2-0 goals in the ongoing Oorja football tournament organized by ITBP in Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA) Chimpu. In the second match of the day, West Siang (Boys) defeated CC Club-2 by 3-2 goals, whereas in another match SLSA (Boys) clinched the match by 4-0 goals against opponents ITBP School Aalo. The last match on the day also saw SLSA (Girls) thrash ITBP School Aalo by 3-0 goals.
Dagbom Geyi of West Siang team has been awarded player of the day for scoring 2 Goals individually for his team.
Teams to qualify for the semifinals have been decided from today’s matches whereas their position in the group will be decided based on Sunday’s matches.
Earlier to encourage the players, Addl. Director Sports, Kargie Dodum, Dy. Inspector General, NE FTR ITBP, SK Sharma, Dy. Inspector General, North-East Ftr ITBP-GC Upadhyay and Commandant, 31stBn ITBP -PN Prasad witnessed the matches.
