ITANAGAR, May 15: Although the state saw a single casualty due to Covid on Saturday, the overall situation, particularly in the ICR continued to remain critical.
The lone Covid patient who succumbed to Covid was a 53-year-old male from Ziro in Lower Subansiri district.
He was suffering from acute gastroenteritis and expired due to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome at DCHC Ziro on Saturday. With this the state’s Covid casualty tally now stands at 78.
With the addition of 249 new cases on the day (asymptomatic 177, symptomatic 72) and ICR continuing to lead with 76, the state’s active Covid count on Saturday reached 2251 and with 199 recoveries (ICR 57, LDV 33, Lower Subansiri 20, Papum Pare 18 and Lower Siang 12 the double-digit districts), the recovery/discharge count reached to 19293.
As of Saturday, 2006 individuals across the state were in home isolation with maximum in the ICR-470. 2770 samples were collected across the state on the day with top collections from Changlang 450 and ICR 397.
Occupancy status at the CCCs as of May15 was- 51 Covid patients at DCH Chimpu, 44 at SQF Lekhi, 8 at DCHC Midpu, 6 at DCH Pasighat and 27 at DCHC.
