ITANAGAR, May 29: The capital police made another significant progress in dismantling the inter-state sex racket with the recent arrest of one Nandram Boro (32) from Darrang district in Assam. This brings the total number of arrests in the said case to 22.
The Capital Superintendent of Police (SP), Rohit Rajbir Singh, informed that  that the investigation is ongoing and assured the public that any new developments will be communicated in due course.
The operation began on May 4, when Itanagar capital police, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid in the Chimpu area. The raid targeted the alleged brothel-cum-residence of Techi Ania and Jamlo Tagung, resulting in the rescue of four minor girls and the arrest of 15 individuals, including traffickers, pimps, and sexual assailants.
Further investigations led to another raid on May 11 at a lodge on Zoo Road, Chimpu. This operation resulted in the arrest of six more suspects, including three pimps and three sexual assailants, and the rescue of one more minor victim.
The rescued minors, aged between 10 and 15 years, have been transferred to a shelter home where they are receiving medical and psychological care. The total number of victims rescued in this case now stands at five.
