NAMSAI, Oct 7: Acting on a tip-off received from reliable source, Namsai Police arrested one person in connection with the NDPS Act on Thursday last.
Police in its press communiqué informed that, after receiving information that one Chow Likken Pomong, (32) of village- Sulungtoo, Namsai, his wife Nang Rasnawati Pomong (Age 25) and his sister-in-law Nang Santana Pomong (Age 24) has procured contraband substance suspected to be heroin. Immediately, a police team led by DySP Chera Saban, SI C.S.Khamhoo, HC R.R.Singh, HC D.Kumar, L/Ct L.Tailu and L/Ct K.Pema proceeded to Sulongtoo village and conducted a house search in presence of independent witnesses.
During the search, police recovered a plastic pouch with orange & white powdery substance suspected to be heroin weighing 5 grams and cash amount of Rs 91,500/- suspected to be sale proceeds.
The accused Chow Likken Pomong has been arrested and notices u/s 41(A) CrPC has been served to both the women accused. Further contraband substances along with cash amounts have been seized and a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Namsai Police Station.
