MEBO, May 2: Onam Gamno, a dedicated arm wrestler from East Siang district, has been officially selected to represent India at the prestigious Asian Armwrestling Championship 2025. The championship is scheduled to take place in New Delhi from May 3 to 11.
The selection confirmation was issued by the People’s Armwrestling Federation India, recognizing Onam’s exceptional achievements and consistent performance in the sport. She will be competing in the Senior Women 50 Kg Both Hand category, marking a significant step in her competitive journey.
Gamno is no stranger to the international armwrestling stage. In 2023, she brought home a Gold Medal in the left arm 52 kg category at the World Armwrestling Championship — a feat that solidified her reputation as one of India's top athletes in the sport.
