ITANAGAR, Jul 9: As part of 'Swachhata Pakhawada' movement, the National Sample Survey Office, Itanagar Regional Office carried out activities in public places of Itanagar city on July 8 last.
To begin with, staff members, at the office located at Chandra Nagar, pledged “to remain committed towards cleanliness and devote time for maintaining cleanliness both at the work place, home and surrounding areas.” Staff members then undertook a cleaning campaign around the main gate of IG Park, Itanagar.
Later children of Government U P School, Chimpu II, were sensitized about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene-- both personal level as well as social. The importance of avoiding the use of disposable plastic items and proper disposal of garbage was stressed, and items like dustbin and hand wash materials were donated to the school to help the cause.
The National Sample Survey Office, Itanagar also carried out plantation of saplings at few prominent public places to mark the campaign.
