ITANAGAR, Apr 30: The five-day residential leadership, personality development and life skills training programme for NSS volunteers concluded here today. 

Speaking at the occasion as Chief Guest, SP Fire and Emergency Services, Kime Aya congratulated the participants and recollected the 29 training programmes he himself had attended throughout his career in the Police Department and said, “Every training programme adds to your personality and empowers you.” 

Yumlam Kaha, the newly appointed Director of the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Tribal Affairs, who was the Guest of Honour at the function, appreciated the contribution made by all the staff coordinating NSS activities in the State and expressed great satisfaction over the various youth-empowerment initiatives taken up by the NSS, Regional Director, SLO, NSS and the Programme Officers.  Kaha called upon the volunteers present to work hard on themselves to shape their lives and destiny. 

Director, DBYC, Fr. Cyriac, in his message to the participants requested the volunteers never to neglect any such training programmes, as even the smallest training programme adds to the formation of one’s character.  He also felicitated Yumlam Kaha, the newly appointed Director of the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Tribal Affairs and expressed great pride in having eminent Don Bosco Alumnus like Kaha who he hoped would add shine to the State of Arunachal Pradesh. 

Earlier while welcoming all trainees and guests, Sunil Kumar Basumatary, Regional Director, NSS, Guwahati spoke of the various training programmes the Regional Centre has scheduled for the Seven Sisters.
