PASIGHAT, Sep 23: Former Joint Director, School Education, Takosing Boko passed away at the age of 76 years at the BPGH, Pasighat today after prolonged illness. He leaves behind his wife, two sons and two daughters. 
Born in Komkar village, Upper Siang district in 1946, Boko started his career as a Junior Teacher, mentored many students during his long teaching life and retired as Jt. Director School Education in 2004 last. He was a born leader, pioneering the movement of bringing English medium of education to Arunachal Pradesh, while he was a student of JN College Pasighat. He also served as a member of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission or a term. As the news of Takosing Boko’s death spread, hundreds of his students, intellectuals thronged to his private residence at Misam village, Pasighat to pay their last respects. Saddenedcat the passing away of the noted academician, MLAs Ninong Ering, Kaling Moyong and Lombo Tayeng, DC Tayi Taggu, ABK General Secretary Okom Yosung and DDSE Odhuk Tabing stated that they were terribly pained to hear of the tragic demise. “May God reward you a peaceful afterlife. Your absence will be felt by us and your myriad students and well wishers”, messages read.
