NIRJULI, Sep 20: The Nirjuli Urban ICDS Project is celebrating the "Rashtrya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month)" from 1st September  in various Anganwadi Centres and in the  project headquarters. More than 50 Anganwadi Workers & Helpers and beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana participated in  the programme.

Earlier, National Nutrition Week and Matru Vandana Saptah had been celebrated in the project from September 1-7 last.

Today, a program of Rashtrya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month) was organised in the project headquarters at Banderdewa.
Jumyir Ronya Kato, Circle Officer, Banderdewa who attended inspected the recipies prepared by Anganwadi Workers & Helpers and appreciated the same. She exorted the Anganwadi Workers & Helpers to run the Anganwadi Centres smoothly, so that benefits reach the needy ones. 

Dr. Anuradha Shankar, MO, CHC Doimukh conducted health checkup of pregnant & Nursing mothers and distributed medicines.

Earlier, Ms. Lali Lego, CDPO and Ms. Bagdevi Dabi, Supervisor gave lectures on importance of mother's milk, balance diet, cleanliness and etc. Cooking demonstration were also organised in the programme.

Healthy mother & baby and best recipies competition were also conducted and prizes were given to the winners.

The celebration will continue till September 30.
