Dollungmukh, Jun 4: Under its CSR-SD initiatives, NHPC’s 2000 MW Subansiri Lower HE Project today signed an MoU with M/s Kamle Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd., Dollungmukh Circle, Kamle district for Skill Enhancement Training in handloom sector for upliftment of livelihood of local women in the project area.
As per the MoU, a Handloom Training Centre will be established at Dollungmukh Circle and handloom training alongwith free boarding & lodging will be provided to 160 local women. The trainees will be taught the different steps starting from preparation of yarn to completion of cloth, as well as designing, embroidery, etc. The training shall be imparted in four batches over a period of one year.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects), NHPC and Vipin Gupta, Executive Director, Subansiri Lower HE Project.
Speaking on the occasion, Basu reiterated NHPC’s commitment towards all round development of the people in and around its project areas.
On behalf of NHPC, the MoU was signed by Miren Kumar Verma, GM(Civil) / CSR and Nido Yapop, Chairperson, M/s Kamle Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd.
