ITANAGAR, Jul 11: A State level Review cum Orientation Workshop for District Reproductive & Child Health Officer’s (DRCHOs) of all the districts commenced at Naharlagun today organised by the National Health Mission, Arunachal Pradesh.
The workshop focusing on multiple programmes such as mother’s absolute affection (MAA), World Breastfeeding Week,  Anaemia Mukth Bharat, Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight etc., aims to be conducted over a span of three days.
The Resource persons are Dr. Runi Tasung, DDMCH, Dr. Tana Natung, MD, MIPHA, Nodal officer (Child Health), Dr. Nabum Budh, MD, Nodal officer (NVHCP), Dr. Tana Jesy Tara, MD (Paed), DH Doimukh, Dr. Nani Tago, MD (Paed) Associate Professor TRIHMS, Naharlagun and Manas Mohan, State Facilitator (RMNCHA) UNICEF.
Dr. Runi Tasung, DDMCH, in her inaugural speech said the way forward would be to learn and understand from the Specialists during the workshop and impart it back to the frontline workers in the districts. The frontline workers comprising of Medical officers, Health & Wellness officers, ANM’s and ASHAs need to be given awareness and correct information so that the beneficiaries get the best of service from the healthcare providers. 
Dr. Tana Natung, MD, MIPHA, Nodal officer (Child Health) in his speech stressed on the importance of introducing MusQan and to roll out the plan at the earliest. The goal of MusQan initiative is to ensure provision of quality child-friendly services in public health facilities to reduce preventable newborn and child morbidity and mortality.
He also stressed on importance of Mothers Absolute Affection (MAA) which targets breast feeding promotion and to increase awareness, demand and practising and preaching breast feeding, he said.
