ITANAGAR, Aug 21: Rural Works Department minister Honchun Ngandam said development activities should not focus on making profits but must have a holistic approach for the upliftment of society. He encouraged engineers to take challenges and commit for development on the right path as shown by prime minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Pema Khandu.
The minister was speaking at the seminar conducted by Arunachal Rural Road Development Agency, RWD, marking 75 years of Independence—Azadi ka Amrut Mahatsov at the RWD conference hall.
Chief Engineer, PMGSY Er. D. Nyodu, gave the keynote address and performance of PMGSY projects in Arunachal Pradesh. Er. Onyang Tatak, ITNO, ARRDA delivered powerpoint presentation on various topics of the seminar such as eMARG, new technology which works on the line of ‘green technology’ in road construction was also discussed for alternate road construction methods which reduces the excess use of stone aggregate to save natural resources as opposed to conventional road technology. K.C Dhimoley, RTA also spoke on the occasion.
Secretary RWD, N. Glow emphasized on the importance of the seminar and gave a call to all officers to be sincere and perform well to complete all PMGSY projects I & II before March 2022.
 Earlier, under the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, tree plantation in more than 125 project sites was conducted by the department  marking its commitment towards the environment along with developmental activity.
MLA of Tali, Jikke Tako also attended the seminar.
