ITANAGAR, Mar 16: Condemning the assault on Arunachalee student Higio Gungtey at Bengaluru by his landlord, the Nyishi Elite Society (NES) called the incident a brutal racial attack. ‘We urge the state government and Union Home Ministry to initiate appropriate measure with Karnataka Government to set off stringent action against the culprit as per law without any discrimination, stated NES in its release.

While stressing for strong action, NES further appealed the people of Karnataka and  others  irrespective of caste, creed and religion to voice their support for ensuring justice to Gungtey. The repeated physical assault on the North East people especially, Arunachalee in mainland may incite a feeling of alienation and give rise to a trust deficit to the peace loving people of Arunachal Pradesh which is not in the interest of a healthy nation, added NES.
