KHONSA, Aug 2: Nehru Yuva Kendra Tirap and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, organised the District Level Yuva Utsav at Government Higher Secondary School, Khonsa on Tuesday. The event was organised on the theme of Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal, India@2047.
The main objective of the programme was to celebrate the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' in the spirit of 'Yuva Shakti se Jan Bhagidari' and to form a fraternity of young artists, writers, photographers and orators of the country under the mentorship of experts.
The event comprised five exciting competitions, namely the Young Artists Camp, Painting, Young Writers Contest - Poetry, Mobile Photography Contest, Declamation Contest, and Group Cultural Fest.
District Youth Officer, Mohit Nehra briefed about the objectives of the programme & said that Yuva Utsav provides a platform to the talented youth of the district. Renu Kago, lecturer, Govt. Hr Sec School delivered a wholehearted welcome speech during the event. KC Lowangcha, Principal, (GHSS) felicitated all the jury members with scarves.
Deputy Commissioner Hento Karga who attended the programme told the students about the importance of 'Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal' and praised the efforts of Nehru Yuva Kendra Tirap for organizing the grand event. He urged the youth to actively participate in such programs and encouraged the NYK to continue organizing similar events in the future.
More than 300 youths from across the district presented their talent in their respective categories. Students from differ educational institutions including DIET College & Wangcha Rajkumar Govt. College also participated in the mega event.
Cultural teams belonging from the Chasa and Thinsa village added colour to the event.
The winners of all five competitions were later felicitated with cash prizes, trophies, and certificates.
