Nirjuli, Jul 6: The Combined Annual Training Camp of 1 Arunachal Pradesh Battalion which commenced at NERIST Campus on June 23 last concluded on July 2. Cadets from all NCC Battalions under NCC GP HQ Tezpur were part of the mega camp where more than 509 NCC cadets participated.
The cadets took part in the camp with lots of enthusiasm, zeal and energy. Their motivation and interest stood unhindered and unwashed despite erratic rains. The cadets were given theoretical and practical training on diverse topics. During this training camp, 35 Cadets were selected for RDC-24 drill competition, trained and sent for further selections to Shillong. Based on their performance in next camps they will be part of North Eastern Region drill contingent at RDC-24.
All the cadets and the ANOs & CTOs were given an opportunity to fire 0.22 Rifle at Police Training Centre Firing Range at Banderdewa where the shooting skills of cadets were honed and the best are selected for participation in various centrally organized camps like Thal Sena Camp, Inter Directorate Shooting Championship etc. 
Many guest lectures/motivational talks were organized for the cadets. The lecture on Cyber Security was given by the officers of Cyber Cell of Arunachal Pradesh Police in which cadets took keen interest and now are better informed regarding Cyber Crimes which have become a norm these days. A motivational talk was given by Prof (Dr.) M Muralidhar, Director, NERIST, where the cadets were made aware about the history and educational opportunities provided by North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), he also had dwelled upon the importance of NCC in Empowering the Youth of the our Nation. A motivational lecture by Neha Yadav (IPS), Principal PTC Banderdewa was also part of the camp where the cadets had an interesting question & answer session after the talk where all the nuances of Civil Services Exam were brought out by the speaker.
Lecture and demonstrations by 12th Battalion ITBP on Infantry weapons and Lecture, Equipment display and demonstration by National Disaster Response Force team were also organized for the cadets to make them aware of the tasks to be done by NCC cadets as volunteers when disaster strikes. 
Col CK Sharma, Training Officer of NCC Group Headquarters, Tezpur visited the camp on the 9th day of the camp to validate the training imparted to the cadets. He was given Guard of Honour by the cadets. In his closing address, he praised the NCC training staff of Army, ANOs and CTOs for imparting high standard of training to the cadets and urged the cadets to be disciplined in life and set high professional standards in whatever profession they choose and become valuable contributors of our nation. He lauded the efforts made by Lt Col K Dileep Reddy, Camp Commandant for successful execution of training camp.
