PASIGHAT, July 20: Football team from Shi Yomi district returned to Pasighat (NCC Headquarter) after playing in the Inter Group Football Tournament conducted by NCC Directorate North Eastern Region (NER) at Imphal (Manipur) in which Cadet Yani-Yorung and Cadet Yanam Ruku of Monigong have been selected in the NCC Dte NER Under 17 Girls Football Team for participation in Subroto Cup Championship 2022-23 at Delhi. Fifteen cadets of 22 Arunachal Pradesh NCC Battalion Pasighat from Govt. Sec School Monigong and Tato had represented the Dibrugarh Group (NCC) Team in the tournament.
The Commanding Officer of 22 AP Bn NCC, Pasighat Lt Col MS Nijjar said “We are indeed very proud of our NCC cadets who have scaled this level, achieved this superb feat in NER and have made their unit and the state proud”.
The ‘Subroto Mukherjee Sports Education Society’ conducts the prestigious Subroto Cup International Football Tournament every year under the aegis of Air Force Sports Board at New Delhi. This is a unique tournament wherein only the champion school teams from the States and Union Territories of India participate.
