Jammu, May 2: The Forum for Awareness of National Security held a national conference on “Cultural Security is National Security” on Friday at Jammu. The conference marks the inaugural session of the 11th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of FANS and will continue till May 3.
The inaugural session was attended by Home & ISBA Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Mama Natung, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Natung emphasised the intrinsic link between cultural preservation and national security, highlighting the importance of safeguarding indigenous traditions, values, and identity as a pillar of a strong and unified nation.
The event witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Indresh Kumar, Chief Patron of FANS cum National Executive Member RSS, along with MLA Akhnoor Mohan Lal Bhagat, MLA Nagrota, Devyani Rana, senior military veterans, academicians, public representatives, and social leaders from across the country.
During the session, Minister Mama Natung extended an invitation to FANS to host its next AGM in Arunachal Pradesh. The proposal was warmly received and appreciated by the members, recognizing the strategic and cultural significance of the North-East region.
In a key development during the AGM proceedings, Retd Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen A. S. Lamba was elected as the new National President of FANS. His vast experience and leadership is expected to further strengthen the organisation’s mission of promoting national security awareness across the country.
The three-day conference aims to foster dialogue and collaboration on issues concerning cultural integrity, national unity, and security awareness, bringing together experts and stakeholders from diverse fields.
