Roing, June 19: The 28th National Reading Day was celebrated today at Lower Dibang Valley district with the theme ‘Read and Grow’ at the newly renovated District Library, Roing. Sixty students from various government schools of the district participated in the programme.
Deputy Commissioner Soumya Sourabh advised the students to inculcate the habit of reading saying that reading improves one's grasp over spoken language, which in turn boosts confidence. This confidence and the knowledge gained through reading will help you forge ahead in life and be successful career persons, she added.
The volunteers of Dibang Youth Library Network, Roing demonstrated how to read and presented a skit to emphasise the importance of reading.
